Ingredients for Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup (250 mL) water
  • 1 cup (125 mL) granulated sugar

Ingredients for Tart Cherry Beer Slushy

  • 2 cups (500 mL) frozen, pitted cherries
  • 1 cup (250 mL) ice cubes
  • 1 cup (250 mL) sour beer
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) fresh lime juice, plus more to taste
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) simple syrup
  • Lime wheel for garnish, optional

Simple Syrup (makes enough for 8 slushies)

  1. 1. In a small pot, bring water and sugar to a gentle boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved, about 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat and cool before using. Leftover simple syrup will last in the fridge in an airtight container for about a month.

Tart Cherry Beer Slushy

  1. 1. Add frozen cherries, ice cubes, sour beer, lime juice and simple syrup to a blender. Blend until slushy, about 15 seconds. Taste and stir in a little more lime juice if needed. Pour into a Mason jar or large glass, garnish with a lime wheel and serve immediately with a straw.
