Ordering Information

What's a party without a keg?

The Beer Store currently has over 70 available brands from a wide variety of brewers to meet all of your events needs - big or small!

See which brands have kegs available.

If you enjoy draught beer, you can enjoy it at home with a Home Draught Unit.

How To Order Your Keg or Arrange For Pick-up

Unfortunately, we can only deliver to licensee establishments – in other words, we can’t deliver a keg to your home or office. You’ll need to make your keg purchase and pick-up at our retail locations.

  • Anyone 19 years of age or older can order kegs.
  • Kegs are available for pick-up at The Beer Store Distribution Centres (DC) in Bolton, London, Ottawa, Stoney Creek and Sudbury. Simply drive to the DC/store and pick up.
  • You can also order kegs at most retail stores, but check with the store manager first for availability. Once you order a keg, it will be shipped to that store from the DC. Please note that it may take up to four weeks for delivery depending on the store's delivery schedule.
  • Be sure to contact your local store well in advance of your desired pick-up date.

Special Occasion Permits are required if you are planning an event where you will be serving or selling beverage alcohol at any location which is not a licensed establishment or a private place or residence. For more information please view our Special Occasion Permit page.

Deposit

A deposit is paid on all kegs purchased at the Beer Store. This deposit is refunded to you when the keg is returned.

Keg Storage

To ensure the freshest quality beer, we encourage you to keep kegs cold at all times. Too much movement and loss of temperature to the keg can result in a lower quality of beer. Once your keg has been tapped using your pump, your beer will stay fresh for approximately 12 hours.

A home draught set up will keep beer fresh for approximately three weeks. If you have any questions regarding keg freshness, please contact the brewer directly.

How many kegs should you purchase?

A general rule of thumb is 10 cases for every 100 people. Please view the chart below to find cases/bottles to keg ratios.
